Abstract

In this paper, a dual polarized cross dipole antenna for base station is designed. There is a severe mutual coupling between the compact antenna units. By adding a decoupled surface and parasitic patch structure, the isolation of the co-polarization and cross-polarization can be significantly improved. With the decoupled surface, the co-polarization isolation between adjacent units is increased from 14dB to 20dB, and the cross-polarization isolation between adjacent units is improved from 10dB to 22.5dB during 3.3-3.6GHz band. Besides, the isolation between two ports of the same unit is better than 25dB.
