Abstract

Multiplexing technology is important when realizing multipoint measurement. We propose a vector accelerometer based on a silicone rubber compliant cylinder, which makes it easy to realize multistage cascaded multiplexing. The proposed accelerometer has the natural frequencies of 19–39 Hz, which increase with an increased Shore A material hardness and a shortened length of the intermediate part of the compliant cylinder. In addition, at a random orientation, the maximum sensitivity reaches 340.6 pm/g when subjected to a 10-Hz vibration excitation. Moreover, the accelerometer can recognize the vibration orientation from 0° to 360°. With high integration, small size, and multistage cascaded multiplexing, the accelerometer is, especially, suitable for narrow spaces multipoint measurement.
