Abstract

In this work we theoretically demonstrate high idler conversion in a femtosecond optical parametric oscillator based on a crystal with two consecutive quasi-phasematching gratings, each one with a different poling period. In the first parametric interaction the signal and the idler are generated, while in the second one, part of the energy in the signal is transferred to the idler. Two singly resonant cavities, one for the signal and the second for the idler, are analysed and the advantages and disadvantages of each configuration are discussed.
