Abstract
A direct coupled, cryogenic, high gain, audio frequency, operational amplifier has been developed to amplify the output from infrared detectors before exiting the focal plane. The amplifier is constructed using hybrid technology and operates down to liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K) with a white noise floor of < 10 nV Hz −1 2 , total power consumption of 250 μW and closed loop gain that can be set over a range from unity to > 250.
