Abstract

In this paper, a wideband and high gain Fabry Perot Resonator Antenna (FPRA), with a single partially reflective surface (PRS) layer, that has a relatively high reflection coefficient magnitude, with a positive phase gradient, which resembles that of the optimum PRS over the frequency band of interest is proposed. This design achieved an impedance bandwidth of 22.73% (6.36 GHz) ranging from 24.8 GHz to 31.16 GHz, and the 3-dB gain bandwidth was 22.10 % (6.26 GHz) from 25.2 to 31.45 GHz, with a peak gain of 16.2 dB at 29 GHz. The simulated results showed important enhancements, justifying the feasibility of the proposed antenna as a high gain and wideband FP resonator antenna for Mm-Wave applications.
