Abstract

Purpose Our pediatric/neonatal critical care transport team provides high frequency ventilation (HFV) during interfacility transport utilizing the Bronchotron or TXP-2D (Percussionaire Corp., Sagle Idaho). Preliminary review of Very and Extremely Low Birth Weight (VLBW/ELBW) neonates who received HFV and were transported by our team revealed frequent episodes of hypocarbia (pCO2 < 35 mmHg).
