Abstract
Objective: High frequency oscillatory ventilation (HFOV) may allow aggressive lung recruitment while minimizing ventilator induced lung injury. Perflubron (perfluoro-octyl bromide, LiquiVentO, Alliance Pharmaceutical Corp., SanDiego, CA) (PFC) may attenuate lung inflammation and has salutory effects on pulmonary mechanics and gas exchange. We explored PFC dose response relationships during high frequency partial liquid ventiation(HFO-PLV).
