Abstract

The damping of zone-boundary magnons has been calculated for rutile and perovskite structure Heisenberg antiferromagnets for temperatures up to 0.8 TN. The formula obtained for the half width in terms of the temperature-dependent zone-boundary magnon frequency and the number of nearest-neighbour spins on opposite sublattice agrees well with the experimental data.
