Abstract

Induction heating is a powerful technique for providing high temperature to several applications such as steel melting, brazing and surface hardening. This paper proposes full bridge resonant inverter for nonmetal induction heating application containing six components: transformer, full bridge rectifier, full bridge inverter, resonant tank, high frequency transformer and non-ferrous metal smelting. Power supply of heating is provided in the experiment. The diameter of the non-ferrous metal melting is 2.5 centimeters while the height is 5.5 centimeters. The 100-gram lead is heated with the ambient temperature of 364.1°C in 60 seconds, which results in completed melting. The generated output power of heat is appropriately 1.89 kilowatts with the high efficiency as 86% at full power.
