Abstract
High field Mössbauer experiments are reported for (Fe1−xMnx)3N and compared with results of ASW bandstructure calculations. Depending on the local (FeMn) environment ferro- as well as antiferromagnetic exchange interactions are present, leading to a strongly inhomogeneous magnetic order.
