Abstract

We have measured the magneto-photoluminescence in Cd1−xMnxTe/Cd1−yMgyTe quantum wells in magnetic fields up to 45T at temperatures 77 and 4.2K. We obtained the Zeeman splitting of the heavy-hole exciton as a function of the well width. From the experimental data, we obtained the effective spin component and the effective temperature of single quantum wells with different well thicknesses. Our experimental results suggest that both the effective spin component and the effective temperature depend on the magnetic layer thickness.
