Abstract

The authors consider the Schrodinger equation on the line and prove asymptotic expansions for the S-matrix S(k) in inverse powers of k as k to infinity . The order of these expansions depends on the number of L1 derivatives of the potential. They establish and exploit a connection between S(k) and the two Titchmarsh-Weyl m-functions (m+or-) associated with this problem.
