Abstract
Abstract The Zr-based metal organic framework UiO-66 was synthesized using the solvothermal method. The adsorption properties of UiO-66 for organic dye Congo red (CR) were studied. The results showed the excellent adsorption performance of UiO-66 toward CR. The adsorption equilibrium data were consistent with the Langmuir adsorption isotherm model. The adsorption kinetics, thermodynamics, and mechanism of CR on UiO-66 were studied. The results of cyclic adsorption experiments showed that UiO-66 could be used repeatedly to adsorb CR.
