Abstract

It is urgent to develop high-efficiency, stable and inexpensive electrocatalysts for oxygen evolution reaction (OER). In this work, we investigate the electrocatalystic properties of perovskite-type hybrid LaNiO3@LaCoO3 nanoparticle composites. At a current density of 10 mA/cm2, it shows a low overpotential of 400 mV, a small Tafel slope of 120.3 mV/dec. In addition, it also demonstrates excellent electrochemical stability with almost no drop of current density after operating for 20 h, which is superior to that of their individual counterparts. This work shows that the current perovskite composites will become an important component of efficient non-noble metal-based OER electrocatalysts.
