Abstract
Abstract The technique of afterloading surface moulds by remote control, using multi-curie 60Co sources, is described. The method eliminates all radiation hazard to staff and allows treatment times to be reduced to minutes. A number of examples are presented showing how areas of different shapes and sizes may be irradiated by moving the sources during the course of treatment. The treatment of, and the clinical results observed on, two patients are described in detail.
