Abstract
Nowadays emerging memory devices have been much paid attention due to needs for the performance improvement and energy efficiency of computing in big data era for better computing hierarchy. Among them, Phase Change Memory (PCM) is being persistently spotlighted due to its fantastic characteristics such as high scalability, high endurance, long retention and so on. Moreover the technologies for high density PCM beyond the density of 128Gb have been successfully developed for commercialization, which can meet the requirement of new applications for more efficient computing hierarchy like storage class memory and neuromorphic computing. In this paper key technologies for high density PCM will be discussed along with applications.
