Abstract
A phenomenological successful dual fragmentation model is extended to events with unusually large particle multiplicities with the object to explain data obtained with a large transverse energy trigger. The concern of this investigation is a transition region: the dominant production mechanism is still soft and the final state still possesses an approximate one-dimensional structure, but the contributions from multiple pomeron exchange can no longer be ignored.
