Abstract

Entomologists are becoming increasingly involved in research on insect nerve and muscle physiology. Instrumentation can be almost prohibitively expensive, especially where analyses of large numbers of action potentials are required. A simple method, utilizing standard electrophysiological instrumentation, may be employed for recording and analysis of such data; e.g., changes in spontaneous firing rates of nerve and muscle in response to insecticides.
