Abstract

To describe the author's experience with the high definition lipoabdominoplasty technique for the treatment of abdominal flaccidity and lipodystrophy, with correction of muscle diastasis and definition of body contours. This is a retrospective study analyzing the results of 146 patients operated on with the high definition lipoabdominoplasty procedure. The average age was 37.93years (25 to 58). The average body mass index was 25.68kg/m2 (19.6 to 29.9kg/m2). Combined surgeries were associated in 76 cases (52%). The results obtained are demonstrated by comparing the pre and postoperative photos. With the advent of high definition liposuction, the results improved significantly, reaching a higher degree of definition and giving a more athletic and aesthetically pleasing contour. However, this procedure is not free of complications, and should be performed cautiously, while following specific protocols. With proper patient selection, this technique provides excellent outcomes when combined with abdominoplasty. This journal requires that authors assign a level of evidence to each article.
