Abstract

On the basis of a Ag:MoO3 anode, we fabricated blue top-emitting organic light-emitting diodes with enhanced contrast ratio. After doping with MoO3, the reflectivity of Ag anode was reduced by a great ratio. Owing to the decrease in the anode reflectivity, the total reflectivity of the devices also decreased. Accordingly, the contrast ratio of the devices was enhanced. In addition, a purer blue emission was obtained from devices with a low-reflectivity anode. We obtained a blue emission with a spectra peak at 436 nm from top-emitting devices based on 4,4'-bis(2,2'-diphenylvinyl)-1,1'-biphenyl (DPVBi). The emission spectra of the top-emitting devices with a Ag:MoO3 anode were very stable at different view angles.
