Abstract

Ferromagnetic Al 6Ge 18Mn 21 and Al 40Cu 10Ge 25Mn 25 quasicrystals are produced by the melt spinning technique. The high coercivity in these materials is investigated by analyzing the hysteresis behavior of both as-quenched and annealed samples. The highest coercive field can be observed for the crystallized materials after a well defined heat treatment.
