Abstract

Highly automated driving (HAD) is one of the future trends for the years ahead and a key technology for a new kind of passenger transport and logistics. Automated driving can be seen to enhance the comfort and pleasure of travelling as well as improving road traffic safety in vehicle-based individual transport. In addition to the possibility of managing one’s own journey time, it also permits increasing levels of optimised energy and fuel consumption [1]. This makes HAD an important component in ecological driving.
