Abstract
The evaluation of hearing protectors for use against high-amplitude impulse noise remains the subject of research with objective testing techniques using acoustic test fixtures offering the only realistic method of providing performance data for protector design and qualification. The work presented in this paper demonstrates the use of an enclosed shock tube arrangement and acoustic test fixtures as a means of evaluating hearing protectors for use against high-amplitude impulse noise
