Abstract

High accuracy refractive index curves for different modes are calculated by the differential derivation method. The modal jump caused by mode coupling may lead to refractive index error. The first derivative of the refractive index is calculated by the difference method, and the difference of the adjacent first derivative in the same mode is the smallest. The results show that the refractive index curves can be calculated without error. This method is applicable to all wavelength ranges without repeated calculation.
