Introduction

A commentary on Whatever next? Predictive brains, situated agents, and the future of cognitive science by Clark, A. (in press). Brain Sci. Clark (in press) has argued that our brain uses hierarchical predictive coding and the use of this concept would enable us to understand the mental life of the organism. We agree that hierarchical predictive coding provides a good framework for developing further theories and models for different aspects of brain functioning including, perception, action, attention, and experience.
