Abstract

In this paper the hierarchical agglomerative clustering procedure with the dissimilarity coefficient D [HACP, D] and the definite hierarchical clustering procedure [DHACP, D] including some of the published hierarchical clustering methods are introduced. The formal definitions of both of them are given, by means of which the properties of these procedures can be investigated. An example of applying the procedure concerns the classification in paleobiology.
