Abstract

We present an updated HFAG report for the τ lepton, using τ lepton experimental results available up to Summer 2014. World averages are computed for quantities where the HFAG procedures may produce improvements over the PDG compilation. Furthermore, we list the available upper limits on the searches for τ lepton flavor violating (LFV) decays and, for the first time, we provide combined τ LVF upper limits. The τ lepton branching fractions, mass and lifetime are used to test lepton universality for charged weak currents and to compute the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa (CKM) matrix element |Vus|.
