Abstract
Abstract Monoacylation and trifluoromethanesulfonylation of phenolic diols were achieved by the aid of HF–pyridine, whereas diacylation occurred with pyridine alone. Furthermore, HF–pyridine was found to promote the direct conversion of t-butyldimethylsilyl ethers to the corresponding acetates.
