Abstract

As technology is advancing, scientists and researchers have been analyzing, designing, and developing an alternate sampling grid called a hexagonal grid. Hex-Gabor filter is an image enhancement filter for hexagonal images developed using different software simulation techniques. When compared to the rectangular domain, the cost of cost calculation is considerably cheap. The hexagonal domain has motivation from the human vision also as they closely resemble the photoreceptors of the human retina. The parameter sigma = 2/pi is observed to be the most favorable parameter value in these interpolation techniques. Hex-Gabor image enhancement and interpolation utilize a three-dimensional filtering technique.
