Abstract
This is a commentary on Michael Lissack’s two-part article “Understanding is a Design Problem: Cognizing from a Designerly Thinking Perspective.” While fundamentally agreeing with the main thrust of Lissack’s argument, this commentary seeks to amplify attention to the pivotal role played by values in constraining our cognition.
