Abstract

Using the method of fundamental components for the problem of diffraction of a TE-polarized wave on a half-plane with two-sided impedance boundary conditions a heuristic solution is obtained that approximately describes the scattered field. The verification and adjustment of heuristic formulas using a rigorous solution by the Wiener–Hopf method are carried out. A physical interpretation of the rigorous solution based on the obtained heuristic relations is proposed.
