Abstract

A novel heterospin diradical composed of 6-oxophenalenoxyl and α-nitronyl nitroxide moieties was designed and generated. The triplet species was detected by means of ESR spectroscopy, and the temperature dependence of the forbidden transition (ΔMs = ±2) signal intensity Ion 1/T demonstrated the high-spin preference for the ground state of the heterospin system, agreeing with theoretical studies.
