Abstract

[SnR 2(SC 6H 4PPh 2) 2] (R=Me or Ph) react with silver complexes such as [Ag(CF 3SO 3)(PR 3)] (PR 3=PPh 3 and PPh 2Me) to give [AgSn(μ-SC 6H 4PPh 2) 2R 2(PR 3)]CF 3SO 3 ( 1– 4) where silver atom are coordinated to the PPh 2 group of the phosphinethiolate ligand as confirmed in the X-ray crystal structure of [AgSn(μ-SC 6H 4PPh 2) 2Me 2(PPh 2Me)]CF 3SO 3·CH 2Cl 2 ( 2). Similar tin derivatives [SnR 2{(SC 6H 4) 2PPh}] (R=Me, 5; R=Ph, 6) where synthesised and reacted with [Ag(CF 3SO 3)(PR 3)] and [Ag(CF 3SO 3)] to give in both cases [AgSn{μ-(C 6H 4) 2PPh}R 2]CF 3SO 3 (R=Me, 7; R=Ph, 8)
