Abstract

ABSTRACT The luteinizing activity of two urinary postmenopausal gonadotrophin preparations (Pergonal-24 and -26) was measured by the ovarian ascorbic acid depletion test. Comparison of the slopes for the log dose-response regression lines by means of a t-test revealed that these two preparations were significantly different. This result indicates that Pergonal-24 and -26 cannot be used interchangeably as reference standards for the determination of urinary LH activity.
