Abstract

Abstract Antinucleolar antibodies (ANoA) were found most frequently in patients with systemic sclerosis and atypical illnesses manifesting Raynaud's phenomenon. These usually were found to be of more than two immunoglobulin classes. Over 70% of sera with ANoA fixed C3 and C4. IgE ANoA was found in 56% of our patients. IgE antinuclear antibodies were found in 48% of patients with systemic lupus erythematosus, 58% of patients with procainamide-induced systemic lupus erythematosus, and in only 5% of patients with rheumatoid arthritis.
