Abstract

The bisulfite adduct, formed upon treatment of (2,2'-methanediyl)biscyclohexanone with aqueos sodium bisulfite solution in the presence of acetic acid, subsequently reacted under the same conditions with certain aromatic and aliphatic primary amines, giving moderate yields of N-substituted 5-(4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-indol-2-yl)pentanoic acids.
