Abstract
Abstract Zirconium(IV) heterocyclic carboxylates of furan-2-carboxylic acid, indole-3-acetic acid and indole-3-butyric acid of the type Zr(OPr1)4-n(L)n (uhere L - anion of the acid; n [dbnd] 1, 2 and 3 and Opri - isopropoxy group) have bean prepared by reacting Zr(OPri)4.Pri OH (where Pri OH - isopropanol) and the appropriate acid in different stoichiometric ratios in anhydrous benzene under reflux. These carboxylates of zirconium(IV) were characterised by elemental analyses and infra-red spectra. The infra-red spectra suggest symmetrically bonded carboxylate groups present in these complexes.
