Abstract
5,11-Dihydro-6H-dibenzo[b,e]azepin-6-ones were for the first time expanded into 5,7,8,14-tetrahydrodibenzo[e,h][1,4]diazecin-9(6H)-ones via the so-called “hydrated imidazoline ring expansion” (HIRE).
