Abstract

The mainland beaches of the Hervey Bay region extend for 130 kilometres along the Queensland coast between Urangan and the Kolan River north of Bundaberg, through the Shires of Isis, Woongarra and Gooburrum and the City of Hervey Bay. A coastal processes investigation was undertaken by the Beach Protection Authority covering the beaches of this region. The aim of such investigation was to accurately assess the present and future behaviour of the coast, and to form a comprehensive coastal management plan. The final report documents the results of this investigation and provides a practical management plan for the Local Authorities concerned.
