Abstract

(1) A series of one hundred consecutive case of hernia (inguinal and umbilical) in children with their difficulty in diagnosis and method of treatment is reported. (2) Use of truss is not advocated. (3) Hernia in infants (one year of age) is left alone. (4) For hernia in children (above one year) operation is advocated. (5) Hospitalisation is not essential for young children.
