Abstract

This paper describes the main features of HERMIN Spain, a macroecometric model of the Spanish economy. The basic philosophy underlying the design of HERMIN Spain is twofold. On the one hand, we try to construct a fairly simple and flexible core model of our economy, which could, nevertheless, replicate its main relationships. on the other hand, it requires strict comparability with other similar models built for Greece, Ireland and Portugal, in order to use them in a joint research project to assess the effects of the Community Support Frameworks on growth in the European periphery.
