Abstract
The class of two-body equations of motion containing retarded times is studied in the weakly relativistic case. We give the results concerning the influence of heredity on the degrees of freedom of a physical system, the uniqueness of solutions and the convergence of the iteration method yielding the “instantaneous form” of relativistic dynamics.
