Abstract

Congress has, again, introduced legislation to significantly ease organizing. The current bill, titled the Richard L. Trumka Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, seeks to assist organizing efforts by, among other things, weakening right‐to‐work state laws and banning captive audience meetings. The bill is named in honor of the former president of the AFL‐CIO, who passed away in 2021. Given the currently divided U.S. Senate and Republican‐controlled House of Representatives, there is no expectation that the PRO Act will become law in the next two years.
