Abstract

The article is devoted to the early stages of the political biography of Herbert Morrison, a British politician and one of the most prominent representatives of the Labour Party in its entire history. The author tells about the origin, family, education and the formation of socio-political views of the future leader of the Labor Party. Further, the development of Morrison’s political career is consistently characterized, including his work in the party and municipal bodies of London, in the House of Commons, in the British government (1929-1931), as well as Leader of the London County Council (1934-1940).
