Abstract
The paper provides an overview of the dual reflector afocal imaging system fed by an active phased array for Earth Observation developed by Thales Alenia Space in Italy (TAS-I). In section II, an overview on X band active antennas heritage is presented with a focus on Cosmo SkyMed and Cosmo Second Generation products while in section III, HE-R1000 antenna is described, going into details of Large Unfurable Reflector Assembly (LURA), Feed Array Assembly (FAA) and their integration into SAR Antenna Subsystem (SAS).
