Abstract

Objectives: MicroRNAs (miRNAs), short noncoding RNAs involved in the post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, have been identified in the regulation of different biological processes, including metabolic pathways. The elucidation of their role in lipid metabolism and atherosclerosis is a currently ongoing effort, given the importance of miRNAs as potential therapeutic targets. Herein, we evaluate their expression signature in the liver of wild-type, LdlrKO and Pcsk9KO mice.
