Abstract

A 53-year-old man visited our hospital for evaluation of massive ascites and liver tumor. Concomitant liver disease was ruled out by the absence of risk factors for chronic liver disease. An abdominal computerized tomography showed a diffuse low-density area without enhancement in the right lobe (Figure A). Magnetic resonance imaging showed a low-signal-intensity area on T1-weighted images and a high-signal-intensity area in T2-weighted images in the right lobe. Superparamagnetic iron oxide magnetic resonance imaging showed no enhancement in the tumor.
