Abstract

Henri Langlois was a fabled collector of motion picture prints, but also one of the first to amass a significant collection of artifactual materials relating to the cinema. The article traces Langlois' various film museum projects, with special emphasis on the Musée du Cinema established in the Palais de Chaillot in the 1970s.
