Abstract

AbstractIn normal, anemic and polycythemic rats the blood volume and the total amount of hemoglobin have been determined by means of a modified alveolar CO method and Cr51 tagged erythrocytes. The Cr51 method gives on an average 10 per cent lower values than the CO method, both in normal, anemic and polycythemic animals. Reasons for this difference are discussed.
