Abstract
SELECTIVE coronary angiography has become an invaluable means of distinguishing syndromes due to coronary-artery disease from those arising from other causes. Though much speculation has been made regarding the hemodynamic effects of injecting contrast mediums into the human coronary circulation, little in the way of objective data has been reported. The present report describes the hemodynamic changes that occur during and for a short interval after injection of diatrizoate sodium§ into coronary arteries.Materials and MethodsTwenty-nine patients, 20 men and 9 women, ranging from twenty-eight to sixty-four years of age, were studied.
